PATRICIA M. STEPHENS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Rhode Island Speech and Hearing Association (RISHA) has established this scholarship to honor Pat Stephens, a long-time member of our organization who served as recording secretary, newsletter co-editor, treasurer, and continuing education administrator. She was a speech-language pathologist in the Woonsocket, RI school system for 13 years, and will be remembered for her dedication to her profession and to RISHA. Pat was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and Worcester State College.

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS
The amount of the scholarship for 2024 is $1,000. The submission deadline is January 31, 2024.
- Graduate students majoring in speech-language pathology or audiology at the University of Rhode Island or Worcester State College.
- Undergraduate students who have been accepted into a graduate program in speech-language pathology or audiology at the University of Rhode Island or Worcester State College.
- Selection shall be based on the content of the PowerPoint presentation and faculty recommendations (RISHA will contact the names provided by the applicant on the application).
- Please discuss the following topics in your PowerPoint presentation:
- Why Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology?
- Future Goals and Plans
- Special Areas of Interest
- Volunteer or Community Activities
- How the Scholarship Would Assist Me

Eligibility and Criteria for the scholarship are listed above, along with PowerPoint presentation guidelines. Please submit application and PowerPoint presentation to RISHA Scholarship Chair MJ Reidy (mjreidy3561@gmail.com) by January 31, 2024.
Award
The selection committee will consist of the Scholarship Committee Chairperson and at least three RISHA members in good standing.
