Overview of Presentation
The presenter will describe the 4 categories of a pediatric feeding disorder to provide a foundation of the variety of difficulties a child may have with feeding and swallowing. The speaker will then highlight the differences in assessment and management of feeding and swallowing disorders across hospital, home and school settings. Case studies will be utilized to assist with real world application.

Biography of Presenter
Nicole Scafura is a Speech-Language Pathologist and Certified Neonatal Therapist who
has over 5 years of experience working with the pediatric population. Nicole earned her Master of Science in
Speech-language Pathology from New York Medical College in 2018. Since graduation, she has worked in a variety
of settings including home care for birth to three populations, subacute pediatric rehabilitation, acute care hospitals
and the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Nicole is also competent in conducting and interpreting both Modified
Barium Swallow studies and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow studies. Outside of work, Nicole has a
passion for educating others. She enjoys spreading her knowledge of pediatric dysphagia assessment and treatment
interventions to students and professionals alike, through mentoring and professional conferences. She has presented
at the state level in both New York and Pennsylvania as well as the national level for the ASHA convention.
